I would give this place 10 stars if I could I've tried almost everything on the menu and it continually amazes me The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious, and the portions are huge This shawarma place stands out because wide selection of limited edition drinks phenomenal, the plates come with a pita & pop, the customer service is amazing, the meat is consistently super high quality, and the menu is huge with many options to choose from My personal favourites: Mixed shawarma poutine Vegan options: Garlic Potato Herrera, veggie supreme with falafels Chicken shawarma plate Kafta/kubida skewers with their house garlic sauce I come here once a week and always looking forward to coming back! Eating here is the best part of my week, would never go anywhere else!
Stopped in to grab take out and so happy we did. Have driven by this place so many times when im in newmarket and never tried it. The food is so fresh and delicious. The lady working was so friendly I recommend trying them if you haven't
Hello everyone. I am writing this review to provide transparent feedback to others on my experience. Living in Zephyr and frequenting Newmarket and surrounding area, I always saw Chez Talal and wouldn't think twice about visiting it in the strip plaza that it sits in. However, there aren't many food options in Newmarket unless you enjoy burgers and fries everywhere (I can say that - I've lived in this area for 10 years). While looking for souvlaki restaurants one day for my wife and I, and given a popular chain in the area recently shut down, I was presented with Chez Talal in my search options. I came here, just like you, and read the reviews that everyone else left. For months now I've wanted to try their food after reading the reviews, but never gotten a chance to. Today, I finally took a leap of faith (I'm very cautious when it comes to my food - I love eating, but cleanliness is also important to me). I drove from Zephyr and visited this establishment, but first, I placed my order on the phone....the female who answered the phone was very friendly and pleasant - I was very surprised, because you just don't get that kind of respect and politeness nowadays. I placed my order, went to pickup, and they were equally friendly and helpful in the restaurant. It's a little mom and pop type shop, but it's clean, bright and you will have no hesitations from a cleanliness perspective. They were BUSY! I could see one of the employees preparing what seems a bunch of online/phone orders and for skip the dishes, and I had to wait a bit to pickup my food as there was someone waiting on front of me, but th ere was someone waiting behind me, and a family of 8 came in to dine in. I was greeted by the other employee (who took my order) and she set me up with the food, was extremely friendly, and then I left. When I got home, my wife and I were AMAZED with the sheer quantity of the food they give you - that was my concern, that takeout would result in very small portions, but this was huge! We ordered Chicken Souvlaki Dinner and Beef Kabab Dinner with a Ceaser Salad. Please note that the bacon crumble in the photos did NOT come with the Ceaser Salad for obvious reasons - we added those on at home. For just under 50, this was a WONDERFUL and filling meal. Aside from quantity, the actual taste was so good! Flavorful and aromatic, I had such a great dinner and actually overate, because it was so good. 5 Stars all the way - will be visiting again!
I've been coming here since it opened 9 years ago and it has always been a top notch shawarma & kebob place. Got 4 kafta kebob skewers on rice and it was so delicious that we got another 4 skewers on rice to take home. The vegetables are always fresh, the garlic sauce is amazing, and the drinks make me feel like I'm on vacation. My family loved it, always looking forward to coming again

Heading to nearby Newmarket Courthouse can be a chore from the westside of York Region. But not if there's lunch to look forward to Chez Talal! Following Kris' advice hasn't done me wrong yet, even when his meals are from 2-4 years ago. I guess something can be said for restaurant consistency! There's many rave reviews for the food here so I knew I had to try it out for myself as a fan of good shawarmas, gyros and doner kebabs. The meal here seems quite popular with young & old alike judging by the senior couple and then the mom with strollers. All of whom trekked here shortly after me. Now after visiting, I'm happy to report back that I was not disappointed. It was certainly one of the better shawarmas that I've had. A super friendly young lady at the counter expertly rolled the hunk of meat and veggies together before toasting for the crispy skin. Chicken Shawarma came with garlic & tahini sauces that were savoury though watery. The moist and flavourful chicken chunks melded well with the fresh veggies, sweet sesame, hot peppers & sour pickles for a flavourful affordable meal. It's true, Chez Talal is located at an awkward plaza, but the standalone restaurant itself looks fresh even having an outdoor patio if you're in the mood to watch road traffic. You're in a good mood anyways after a mini-food coma of a meal. Heck even the ordering counter with the strange UV lighting is fun and eye-catching!
Coming here at least twice a week and the portions are always huge! They always put a generous amount and the food is absolutely delicious. Definitely the best shawarma place, 5 star you have to try!
Was craving a late night meal and grabbed the chicken kebab skewer with fries and sauces and it was amazing! The picture speaks for itself I 100% recommend One of the tastiest shawarma places ever! Very nice and clean place, our families love it! The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and the portions are generous. We've been coming here for years and the food is always amazing and the employees are outstanding. It's amazing that they have drinks that you can't find anywhere else! Delicious food and great quality! I highly recommend their family meals too
